In August 2023, I was approached by The Fax Partnership. They were looking for a full build and development of the East Colfax Cultural District’s website and its visual appeal.
Researching and integrating SEO considerations throughout the design and development process can help inform the content strategy and ensure the website is search engine friendly and effectively reaches the target audience to generate more visits to the colorful district.
Problem:
The site will need to describe what the district is, its mission and values, and importantly, who the district is. The new site will need to display all the content while maintaining a cohesive look that encompasses the personality and rebrand of East Colfax. Inherently, the site must be clean, simple, fun, and have a professional look that makes it incredibly easy for the user to navigate the site. The site will emphasize the terrific stories of businesses that call East Colfax their home. The presentation below provides more details and an overview.
Approach:
Tools: Figma, Wix, Relume.
Process:
Phase 1: involves user research, defining goals, creating user personas, identifying user flows, and conducting keyword research.
Phase 2: focuses on information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and collecting feedback.
Phase 3: includes usability testing, iterative design, accessibility considerations, and finalizing designs.
Phase 4: involves content review, feedback collection, and marketing and communication activities.
Phase 5: consists of documenting design specifications, final quality assurance checks, and making any necessary adjustments before the official launch.
