East Colfax
Designing the web presence for Denver's East Colfax Cultural District

Overview
The East Colfax Cultural District (ECCD) needed a digital home that represented the vibrant, diverse community along one of Denver's most iconic corridors. The existing online presence was fragmented and didn't capture the energy of the district.
I designed and delivered a complete web presence from sitemap to high-fidelity mockups, creating an accessible, community-first digital experience.
The Big Numbers
The website launched on time and became the primary digital touchpoint for the cultural district.
What I Worked On
Led the full design process from research and information architecture through wireframing and high-fidelity design.
- Stakeholder interviews and community research
- Information architecture and sitemap design
- Low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes
- Visual design with community-inspired color palette
- Responsive design across breakpoints
The Challenge
ECCD serves a diverse community with varying levels of digital literacy. The website needed to be welcoming and easy to navigate while also serving as a resource hub for events, businesses, and community programs.
Balancing the district's creative, artistic identity with functional usability was the core design tension.

The Solution
I designed a warm, visually rich website that uses the district's orange accent color as a throughline. The information architecture prioritizes quick access to events and business directories while storytelling sections showcase the community's character.

What I'm Proud Of
- Created a digital presence that authentically represents a vibrant community
- Delivered a complete design system from sitemap to high-fidelity in 3 months
- Designed for accessibility and inclusivity from the ground up
- The website became the primary hub for community engagement and events
